Grane Transportation: One Brand System for 100 Years of Freight

Multi-modal logistics

The Project

A hundred-year-old Chicago logistics company turned scattered touchpoints into one sales-ready brand system, from the brand book to the pitch deck to the web cover video.

The Challenge

Grane needed more than a refreshed look. Founded in 1925 and now three generations into family ownership, the company had a century of credibility and a brand that no longer carried it.

The brand had to work in the rooms where transportation buyers make practical decisions quickly: pitch meetings, service-line conversations, website visits, social scrolls, and email follow-ups. Across those touchpoints the company looked like several different businesses, which meant the sales team spent credibility re-establishing who Grane was instead of selling six service lines.

What We Did

Journey built one brand system and then built every asset out of it.

The brand book set the positioning, visual language, and application rules. The sales deck gave the team a single credible story covering transportation services, dedicated fleets, warehousing and container devanning, cross-dock and consolidation, intermodal drayage, and air cargo. A web cover video and sales collateral video carried the scale of the operation in a way static assets could not, and a social video library kept the system running after launch.

The hundred-year milestone became the organizing idea rather than a badge added at the end. Going the extra mile for a century is a claim almost no competitor can make, so the system was built to say it without sounding like a company living in its own past.

The Outcome

Grane went to market with one coherent brand across the website, the pitch deck, social, and email, anchored on the centennial. Sales conversations now start from a consistent story instead of rebuilding it every time.
